Tomorrow we will mill the staves to size (on the small table saw), notch the staves (on the router table) and cut the tapers (using a 'custom' jig and hand-held router).
Dry fitting and assembly will have to wait until the "spar table" can be lengthened and outfitted with more supports - probably this weekend.
Bob, I am also building a balanced lug pathfinder yawl. I have found some errors in Johns plans with regards to the mast locations. Have you looked at where the mast is located for the balanced lug yawl? I am trying to lock down a distance for the mast from the forward edge of the stem. Any help would be great, Cheers, Tom
ReplyDeleteTom, I have had a couple instances when I mis-read a number/dimension and used an incorrect measurement. Fortunately, those were not difficult to repair. I haven't noticed an issue with the mast placement - but I'll take a closer look at that drawing and let you know what I come up with.
